CGG (http://www.cgg.com/) is a fully integrated Geoscience company providing leading geological, geophysical and reservoir capabilities to its broad base of customers primarily from the global oil and gas industry.
Through its three complementary business divisions of Equipment, Acquisition and Geology, Geophysics & Reservoir (GGR), CGG brings value across all aspects of natural resource exploration and exploitation.
CGG employs 10,000 people around the world, all with a Passion for Geoscience and working together to deliver the best solutions to its customers.
Due to continued growth, we are currently recruiting Geophysicists, Multi-component Processing Geophysicists and Software developers.
GEOPHYSICISTS (Beijing or Singapore office)
CGG foster a rich and dynamic learning environment and therefore on joining, you will be placed in an ongoing training program where you work within a variety of project teams, developing your global understanding of processing projects.
CGG can provide both local and/or international exposure depending on business needs, performance and profile of the candidates.
Job Profile:
As a recognized leader in data processing, this is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to utilize their analytical and problem solving skills in an essential phase of oil and gas exploration.
CGG offers processing solutions for land, marine, multicomponent and sea bed and we use state of the art technology to emit sound waves into the subsurface of the earth, which interact with the geology.
The role of our Geophysicist’s is to interpret these reflected signals and carry out a series of complex processing stages; turning these raw recordings into detailed images of the subsurface.
Our geophysicists work closely with Project Leaders and Team Leaders, receiving guidance which enables them to learn new techniques, understand and perform the vital stages of seismic data processing and deliver projects efficiently.
Required Education & Experience:
Master’s degree (or higher) in Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Geophysics,.
Strong mathematics and problem solving skills
Great attention to detail and effective communication skills.
Demonstrable team working and presentations skills will also be required in for this role, as well as good time management and the ability to organize and prioritize your workload.
Adaptability, open mindedness, curiosity and innovative spirit are key to succeed in this position.
MULTI-COMPONENT PROCESSING GEOPHYSICISTS (Beijing office)
CGG foster a rich and dynamic learning environment and therefore on joining, you will be placed in an ongoing training program where you work within a variety of project teams, developing your global understanding of processing projects.
The candidate must be available for international travel or postings to conduct processing projects throughout the CGG global operational network for a period of 5 years
Job profile
The Multi-component Processing Geophysicist is engaged in production processing activities involving multi-component (MC) seismic data, including 3C, 4C (Ocean Bottom Seismic / Cable or Node).
At the entry level, he/she will be progressively trained on the job in aspects of 2D and 3D seismic data processing of single compressional and converted wave data.
Intermediate or Senior level Multi-component Geophysical Processors will have relevant data processing exposure, ideally in MC data processing, and an ability to function independently to a degree commensurate with their experience.
A key requirement for this position is the availability for international travel or postings to conduct processing projects throughout the CGG global operational network for a period of 5 years.
Key Job Responsibility:
The MC Processing Geophysicist conducts all required tasks related to MC contract projects in accordance with specified processing standards and defined quality assurance measures to meet the client objectives. In contact with R&D, he/she conducts technical studies and tests in order to validate new technologies and methodologies which will be implemented.
The MC Processing Geophysicist will develop an understanding of project planning, estimating timelines, resources, budgets, and essential follow through as their training and experience progresses.
The MC Processing Geophysicist is expected to interact with client representatives for project management purposes.
Required Education & Experience:
Master’s degree (or higher) in Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Geophysics,.
Strong mathematics and high problem solving skills
Great attention to detail effective communication skills.
Demonstrable team working and presentations skills will also be required in for this role, as well as good time management and the ability to organize and prioritize your workload.
