An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Postdoctoral Researcher/Laboratory Manager to join Professor Matthew Freeman’s group based in Dunn School of Pathology.
The postholder will perform two functions. The postholder will undertake research into the genetics, cell biology and biochemistry of the rhomboid-like family of proteins, building on the recently published work of the Freeman group. The overall goal of this work is to understand the cell biology of intercellular signalling. In addition, the postholder will act as a lab manager, helping the group leader to organise all aspects of the group. The relative weight of the two aspects of the job will vary according to circumstances.
You will have a DPhil/PhD in genetics, cell biology or biochemistry, as well as experience with the genetics of model organisms and molecular cell biology techniques. You should be able to work independently to solve experimental problems, and have a record of significant publications. Previous experience in presenting scientific work, both written and orally is essential.
The post is available as a fixed-term contract for 3 years in the first instance.
