An immunology and cancer research lab at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center is looking for a highly self-motivated postdoctoral researcher. Ideal candidates should be creative, independent, well-organized, and capable of multitasking. We use multi-disciplinary approaches, combining the power of molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, and translational medicine, to work on immune cell subsets, gene regulation and cell signaling in immune response and malignant transformation, oncolytic herpes virus, cancer initiating (stem-like) cells, microRNAs, immuno-cellular therapy, and blood and marrow transplantation. We have recent papers published in high-impact journals, such as Immunity, Nature Medicine, Journal of Clinical Investigation, Blood, Leukemia (accepted), and Journal of Immunology. We target glioblastoma, multiple myeloma, and leukemia. Excellent mouse tumor models are available for this study. Our research is currently supported by R01 and R41 from NCI, grants from the US National Blood Foundation and the American Cancer Society, and institutional (internal) funds. We have more than one postdoc position available.

Summary of Duties: Perform basic or applied research in an area of considerable scope and complexity, in which existing theory or methods may be limited or lacking. Identify and select problems to be studied. Learn and use new techniques. Design research, perform experiments, collect and analyze data. Prepare research results and write manuscripts for publication in journals. Prepare seminars, talks or lectures for dissemination of knowledge, particularly the results of research undertaken.

Education/Experience: Ph.D degree in immunology, cell biology, or molecular biology is required. Basic molecular and cellular techniques are needed. Candidates with experiences of immunology, glioblastoma, stem cells, mouse work, flow cytometry, and/or cell sorting are preferred. Ideal candidates should have publications in a journal with impact factor over 5.
