This postdoc position is available at "Laboratoire d’Ondes et Matière d’Aquitaine" (LOMA) at the University of Bordeaux, France. Funded by Agence Nationale de la Recherche, the position is initially for 12 months and with a starting date of January 2014, or as soon as possible afterwards. The work will be carried out at Bordeaux in close collaboration with partners at the Universities of San Sebastian (Spain), Grenoble (France) and Bordeaux. The topic is the computational implementation of a new algorithm of lower complexity for solving Hedin's GW approximation for bulk systems of very large unit cells. The resulting code will be used to predict the bands and band gaps of organic semiconductors used in solar devices of the bulk hetero junction type. The latter constitute a priority at the university of Bordeaux. A solid background in scientific computing, ideally in the area of electronic structure, is required.
