A postdoctoral position is available that focuses on the design and synthesis of new antibiotics. We have recently identified a strategy for targeting therapeutics to bacteria, fungi and protozao, and can selectively target these pathogens in a mammalian host. This targeting ability dramatically expands the types of compounds that can be considered as antibiotics. This postdoctoral position will focus on using this new targeting strategy to design and synthesize new antibiotics. Strong synthetic skills are essential for this position.
