The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is one of the highest ranked scientific research organisations in the world. The Headquarters Laboratory is located in Heidelberg (Germany), with additional sites in Grenoble (France), Hamburg (Germany), Hinxton (UK) and Monterotondo (Italy).
The successful candidate will join a collaborative project between the EMBL groups of Philip Avner at the Mouse Biology Unit in Monterotondo and Takashi Hiiragi in the Developmental Biology Unit in Heidelberg. The successful candidate will be expected to leverage mouse embryology, genetics, molecular imaging and molecular biology to study the onset of random X-inactivation and the lineage dependency of the X-inactivation process in the early mouse embryo. The project will benefit from the strengths of the Avner laboratory in mouse genetics and epigenetics and the Hiiragi laboratory in mouse embryology and advanced imaging.
