The Critical Materials Institute at the Ames Laboratory, a Department of Energy National Laboratory affiliated with Iowa State University, is searching for qualified Postdoctoral Research candidates to fill anticipated vacancies within 2016. All positions require completion of the Ph.D. degree prior to the appointment. Candidates with expertise related to the following areas are encouraged to apply:
• Optimizing the chemistry, structure and properties of alloys with increased efficiency in the use of critical materials. Eliminating losses in the performance of magnetic materials subject to harsh environments and/or processing conditions .
• Development of novel processing techniques for the synthesis of magnetic materials with engineered geometries and tailored performance.
• Development of recycling technologies for critical materials.
• Ensuring materials sustainability by utilizing alternative feedstocks.
• Development of technologies that could be utilized for the advanced manufacturing of magnetic materials.
