Touro University California, a rapidly growing university offering graduate programs in health sciences and education, has an excellent opportunity for a Postdoctoral Fellow for Touro University College of Pharmacy on our Mare Island campus. The university is part of the Touro College and University System and is located on the northern tip of San Francisco Bay in Vallejo, California. Touro University California is an independent, non- profit Jewish-sponsored institution. It has 1,403 students in three graduate professional colleges (Osteopathic Medicine, Pharmacy, Education and Health Sciences). POSITION DESCRIPTION: A Postdoctoral position is available, to conduct research in the laboratory at Touro University California. The applicant selected for this position will explore new vaccine formulations for immunotherapy and infectious disease. Our laboratory uses virology, molecular biology, protein chemistry, cell culture, FACS, ELISpot and biochemical methods, in addition to mouse models of disease, to analyze and develop effective vaccines. Similar elements to studies planned have appeared in the following journal articles: PMIDs 26098553, 24923637, 24378714, 21346416, 18251692, 16984144, 16466765. Candidates will be strongly encouraged to write scientific papers for publication as well as grants for fellowship awards. Candidates with expertise in virology, immunology (including signaling pathways), molecular biology, biochemistry and, and a familiarity with mouse immunization procedures, are especially encouraged to apply. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None QUALIFICATION(S): • Ph.D. or M.D. degree, or an equivalent MS and 3+ years of work experience. In some cases, work experience alone will be considered. • Authorization to work in the United States is required, and you must provide evidence that you have A CURRENT VISA/GREEN CARD or CITIZENSHIP STATUS IN THE US. • This position is subject to a background investigation.
