Summary Description:	Columbia University's Department of Ophthalmology Research Division includes 12 laboratories and more than 50 investigators devoted to the study of basic and clinical problems in vision, opthalmology and eye disease. Investigators encompass the fields of molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, retina, radiation biology, physiology, pharmacology and optics. The department is looking for a physician scientist who has been conducting research in stem cells. The scientist will serve as the lead scientist for all projects involving induced pluripotent stem cells derived from patient skin biopsies. They will also oversee and execute required tasks pertaining to the completion of these projects. The scientist will be responsible for generating, establishing and maintaining all patient cell lines; construct the AAV vector, transduce AAV vectors into patient cells and assess the efficacy of treatment on the cells.
School/Institute/Unit:	Physicians and Surgeons, College of
Minimum Degree Required:	Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D. or M.D.
Minimum Qualifications: All applicants MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered for the position.	At least 3-5 years of high level experience
Preferred Qualifications:	Relevant experience in Ophthalmic research and ability to supervise graduate students and postdoctoral fellows
