Job Description
The Conejo-Garcia and Haura labs have an opening for a postdoctoral scholar in tumor immunology research. We pursue an interdisciplinary approach spanning immune biology and proteogenomics to characterize tumor immune states and response to immune therapy. We are looking for a highly motivated and independent postdoctoral research fellow to take advantage of an established project related to functions of B cells and associated antibodies in human lung cancers.
Position Highlights:
This individual will design, conduct and interpret experiments using human samples from lung cancer patients to better understand roles and functions of B cell in lung cancers. This individual will identify, optimize and validate antibodies produced in lung cancer tumors. Targets will be identified using various proteomic technologies. The candidate will have immediate access to rich array of patient samples including frozen tumor and tumor cell suspensions, and will join a productive, energetic team of immunologists, bioinformaticians, clinicians, surgeons, and protein researchers within our group
The Ideal Candidate:
Successful candidates will have a publication track record demonstrating a strong background in in tumor immunology and/or immune-therapy; with an interest in translational research. Prior experience is required with some of the following techniques: mammalian cell culture, cell transfection assays, flow cytometry (FACS), western blotting, cloning, plasmid purification, and extraction of nucleic acids and protein from patient tissue samples is highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Ability to drive a scientific project independently and design/execute/interpret scientific experiments. Candidates with experience in B cells and/or antibody biology will be given preference.
