Faculty Positions
Responsibilities: FAFU and UIUC-SIB Joint Center for Genomics and Biotechnology invites applications for Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor in Plant Genomics, Evolution of Polyploidy, Plant Reproductive System, and Bioinformatics. Outstanding candidates of all nationalities (Chinese language skills not required) and at all levels (Assistant, Associate and Full) who conduct cutting-edge research on plant biology and related biotechnology will be considered. It is expected that the candidates will engage in collaborative and interdisciplinary projects with other faculty members at regional and national level. The successful candidates are expected to seek and acquire external competitive funding to support a cutting edge research program. The candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses and contribute to the Colleges of Life Sciences, Crop Sciences, and Horticulture in an area(s) related to the candidate’s disciplinary strengths. The candidates are expected to advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
Qualifications: Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Plant Biology, Genetics and Genomics, Plant Physiology, or a closely related field, and the ability to bridge the basic and applied and aspects of plant biology. Experience with bioinformatics is desirable.
